Pharmacy Students Graduating

Graduation

The School of Pharmacy Commencement (our graduation ceremonies) take place every May. We have ceremonies for both our students graduating the BS in Pharmacy Studies and the Pharm.D. To make sure you are on track with required tasks to prepare for graduation, and to find out more about commencement, please review the resources below.

Graduation Preparation for the BS in Pharmacy Studies

Students who are graduating with the BS in Pharmacy Studies must complete the following requirements:

Review your advisement report via Student Admin and the degree audit notes on Nexus put in by the Staff Advisor for the Professional Program to make sure all requirements are met. The BS in Pharmacy Studies requires a minimum of 137 credits, including 6 credits of professional electives. Students who have completed 9 credits of professional electives by the end of the P2 year who do not wish to register for additional credits during the P3 year must complete 143 credits by the end of the P2 year.

Apply for graduation via Student Admin no later than the fourth week of the spring semester of the P2 year. Students who already have a plan to graduate in August may do so during the last four weeks of the spring semester. Please apply as soon as possible, as this will allow time for any issues to be resolved.
Verify your diploma name, address, and contact details via Student Admin after you apply for graduation. This will ensure the appropriate name is on your diploma, and for your diploma to be mailed to you approximately two months following your conferral date. Please make sure to use a permanent address, rather than a school address, for your diploma address.

Submit a final plan of study via Student Admin. This should include a final plan of study for any minors you are completing. Students must complete their minor courses by the end of P2. Plans of study can only be submitted after you apply for graduation. Please allow for 24 hours after applying for graduation before seeking further assistance, as it may take time for the option to submit a plan of study to open. Final plans of study are reviewed by the Staff Advisor for the Professional Program prior to being sent to Degree Audit in the Registrar's Office.
